The best late-night salons

Beauty Bar
  • Lounges
  • Gramercy
  • price 1 of 4

Head to this salon turned saloon where a $10 manicure (Wednesday through Sunday) comes with a free Blue Rinse margarita (yes, it’s the best beauty deal in history). Nightly DJs provide a loud punk-to-funk soundtrack, so you can dance the night away and score perfect digits until 4am. A Brooklyn branch marks the second in New York City and the seventh in the U.S.

Cleo Spa and Salon

  • Spas
  • Gramercy

Walk-ins at this salon are accepted as late as midnight Monday through Saturday and until 11pm Sunday, and the place stays lively with yuppie locals and even a few dudes receiving Swedish massages (60 minutes, $90) from staffers dressed in hot-pink uniforms. But Cleo's biggest after-hours draw is its basic manicures ($15) and pedicures ($35), the latter performed in one of 10 cream leather, massaging chairs. An exciting neon color-changing wall and cool music blasting over the speakers should help keep you awake. Call ahead to book an appointment after 9pm and choose from even more services on the menu, such as facials (60 minutes, $90) and eyelash color tints ($35).

Working late tonight? Don’t worry, you’ll never miss your weekly manicure appointment again thanks to this top-notch salon—it’s open until 10pm. Walk in, even 20 minutes before closing, for a manicure ($10) or pedicure ($20) by one of the spa’s top-notch technicians. Bonus: Each service includes a complimentary shoulder massage.

Hair Party 24 Hours
  • Health and beauty
  • Flatiron
  • price 2 of 4

Need a blowout at three in the morning? You're in luck, because this 24-hour salon never closes. Whether you need a complete beauty overhaul or just a one-off treatment, the comprehensive menu at the unisex salon's two midtown locations goes well beyond your standard cut ($70) and color ($85-$120). But remember, just because it's open at the wee hours of the night doesn't mean you should skip your beauty rest.

Juvenex Spa

  • Midtown West
  • price 2 of 4

Stress and anxiety don’t exactly keep regular business hours, thank you very much. So the next time you feel the impulse to treat yourself at an unexpected hour, head to the 24/7 Juvenex Spa. Tucked away inside a midtown office building, this relaxing destination offers treatments at all hours, including seaweed wraps, facials and hydro massages. You can also enjoy a Jade Igloo sauna or submerge yourself in the Japanese-Style Soaking Ponds. And why not? No matter how early it may be, you’ve earned it

Red Market Salon

  • Hair salons
  • West Village
  • price 3 of 4

While working during the day for Fredric Fekkai, stylists David Cotteblanche and Reynald Ricard started taking on their own clients in the evening at Cotteblance’s studio apartment. They realized there was a demand for a late-night salon, and now you can head to one of two locations in the city where clients can stop in as late as 11pm for cuts (starting at $75), color ($100 for a single processing) and conditioning ($50–$150) while donning a stylish denim robe and enjoying complimentary wine. And once per month, a live DJ is on hand to supply house music.

RPZL
  • Health and beauty
  • Spas

Inspired by fairy-tale maiden Rapunzel’s long locks, this walk-in hair-extension and blow-out bar caters to gals with busy schedules. Head to the salon for an express blow-out before or after work ($40, Monday–Friday 7am–9pm), or give your mane that extra oomph with clip-in hair extensions ($60-$250) that are expertly matched by the Headmasters at the House of Hair for color, length and texture. Bonus: The salon stays open until 9:30pm on Saturdays for those looking to glam up before a night out.

Shampoo Avenue B
  • Health and beauty
  • Beauty salons
  • East Village
  • price 2 of 4

This small, genial spot has been an East Village fixture since before 2006, proffering upscale hair services that won’t hit you too hard in the pocketbook. You can get single-process color (stylist $80, senior stylist $100) and partial highlights (stylist $85, senior stylist $135) for relatively cheap. Bumble and bumble and Kevin Murphy products are used for washing and styling, with both included in the price of color services. Although Shampoo Avenue B does take walk-ins, there’s likely to be a wait; we recommend booking in advance to be on the safe side. And since the joint is open until 10pm Monday through Friday, chances are it can pencil you in.
