Overview
With the proper team comp and a weather boost, it is possible to solo Mega Abomasnow thanks to its double weakness to Fire and the sheer power of some of its counters. However, for this guide we will focus on the duo. While fairly easy in general, this raid does demand proper counters to truly be considered "easy", and they're all Fire Types.
Approach
Team composition
Bring a team of Fire Types and enjoy your easy win.
Most Pokemon have DPSwellabove Duo-worthy level, so building your team for TDO can be helpful in a duo, especially if your partner isn't the best.
The top Mega Evolution counters have outstanding power, so bringing one is definitely a great idea.
Dodging strategy
If fainting out, dodge more. If running out of time, dodge less.
Note: "Good" movesets are not necessarily viable at the level indicated.

Mega Charizard Y is near the absolute apex of Mega Abomasnow counters, overall. While its DPS is slightly behind Mega Blaziken, it's still solo-worthy, and it has the advantage of additional TDO, making it the top choice in the game for the solo.

Fire Spin | Blast Burn | Best |
The top DPS option in the game for this raid, Mega Blaziken absolutely brutalizes Mega Abomasnow with ease. Its TDO is a bit lower than Mega Charizard Y, but it's arguably the better option for competing for the DPS medal in the duo. But, regardless of the situation, Mega Blaziken is never a bad choice. In particular, it tends to pull ahead against Ice Type movesets.

You hit the wrong button. Go back and pick "Y".
Mega Charizard X is... okay. It's literally Mega Charizard Y but worse, so don't pick it unless you don't have a choice.

Fire Fang | Flamethrower | Best |
While definitely below the competition, Mega Houndoom still manages to stand as a solid budget Mega.

Mud Shot | Fire Punch | Best |
Primal Groudon is the weakest Mega Evolution option here.... on paper. Yes, it's definitely weaker than the competition, but its primary utility comes from sitting in the back of the team and granting its unique Primal Boost, increasing the power of its fellow Fire Types on the team by simply existing.

Fire Fang | Fusion Flare | Best |
The Dragon of Truth has the raw, burning power needed to take this raid down pretty easily, as it's a great mix of DPS and TDO. However, it'sslightlymatchup-dependent. In this case, its performance isn't quite as great against Ice Type moves due to its Dragon sub-typing, but the same sub-typing also grants it a double-resistance to Grass Type moves.

Fire Spin | Overheat | Best |
It's hard to go wrong with Shadow Chandelure. Its TDO isn't quite the best on this list, but its DPS isstellar.

Fire Spin | Magma Storm | Best |
Heatran doesn't have the highest DPS for this raid by a decent margin, but it hasmonstrousTDO. Thanks in part to the fact that it double-resists everything that Mega Abomasnow can throw at it, Heatran can generally take down about a quarter of Mega Abomasnow's HP before it drops. Nothing can quite compare in this regard, making Heatran arguably the strongest duo option in the game.

Fire Spin | Blast Burn | Best |
While pretty glassy, Shadow Blaziken leads the non-Mega roster in terms of DPS for this raid.

Fire Spin | Overheat | Best |
One of the members of the old-guard of the top shadows, Shadow Moltres is still a remarkable Pokemon with a lot of sheer power behind its glorious, flaming wings.

Basically Shadow Moltres, but a bit worse.

Fire Fang | Overheat | Best |
A bit middle of the road compared to the above, but still great.
