Question about Hard Pulls?
I've had 6 hard pulls over the last 3.5 years(my entire credit history) from applying for various credit cards. I have yet to have a single hard pull pull from any CRA other than Experian. The only 'exception' to this is that Capital One pulled all three CRA's. I know that recent inquiries can be a reason for application denials so I was wondering if I can leverage this fact to my advantage when applying for new cards.
Example: I've seen DPs that US Bank tends to pull from TU, but when I applied for the Cash+ they pulled Experian and denied me for too Many Inquiries (6/24)
I've tried looking up 'hard pull database california' to see about combatting this but it seems like this at the end of the day with such a young credit profile I'm essentially gambling against the bank pulling from EXP and any additional EXP HPs will seriously hurt my chances for the next 2 years.
Would it make sense to try leveraging the fact I'm at 1/24 HP with TU and EQX from the Capital One Application now by using hardpull databse DPs? Or just to wait till the EXP HPs fall of my report. I'm hoping to get cards now so my AAoA builds up together.

Re: Question about Hard Pulls?
dont calculate using the last 3.5 years - because
HP only count against your score for 1 year
HP's drop off your report after 2 years
so the relevant data is how many in the last 0-2 years
(also the reason a bank gives you for denial is not always the total or real reason)
Dec 16/2019. EX. 721. EQ. 723. TU 746
Jan 25/2024 EX. 774 EQ. 751 TU 758
Inq. EX 2 EQ 3 TU 6 - - CC 2x24, 0x12
Amex BCP $35k - Apple GS $21k - BMW/Elan $19k - Cap1 QS $16.7k - Chase Amazon $13.6k - Chase Bonvoy Bountiful $10k - Chase United Club Infinite $26k - Citi CustomCash $3k - Citi DC $14.5k - CreditUnion1 $9k - DiscoverIT $31.5k - PayBoo - $15.6k - Penfed Gold - $19.3k - USB AltitudeGO -$19k- USBank Cash+ -$25k - PenFed LOC - $20k - USB LOC - $15k

Re: Question about Hard Pulls?
While HPs only count against your score for one year, they're visible for two. Does this mean after one year Hard Pulls can't be used against you in credit-seeking applications? If so why don't HPs last for just the one year before fading off?

Re: Question about Hard Pulls?
Welp, looks like the tool you linked is in accordance with my personal experience. BofA, Chase, US Bank, Discover, Citi, Wells Fargo and AMEX all pull from Experian in California. I'm just starting out trying to actually understand the process of credit and CRAs but I find it comical that I practically don't need any CRAs other than EXP while living in CA. Guess I'll have to start Gardening.

@PlatoPuss There is a lot who pull TU in CA
Some lenders will HP two bureau's, others will HP one such as EX and SP a second.
Some lenders will HP for CLI's like US Bank after an approval if you call in to have your limit reconsidered.
Here are a few examples of HP's in CA .. some are for New CC's, Some are for PLOC's,
Some are for Loan shopping, some are for CLI's. lastly some are for denials
My approval rate is about 98% or there abouts.

Re: Question about Hard Pulls?
Wow I'm very impressed by your success rate given the velocity of HPs. I'm assuming those were from various CRAs and you were selectively applying to lenders that wouldn't pull from the same CRA? Or perhaps I'm just overthinking it and there's not much one can do other than let AAoA increase and let HPs die off.
For instance, I really want the US Bank Cash + Visa, I was denied for too many HPs (waiting another week to see how many HP's I had in the previous 12 months on EXP from annualcreditreport.com) so I've opened up a checking account with them, and was planning on gardening until some HPs fall off, however after I realized almost all of my HPs went to EXP, I'm questioning whether any additional EXP HPs would end in denials and be a further waste. Thanks for the help!

@PlatoPuss That was just from TU .. I did not include 37 from EX and 27 from EQ.
( a lot are now un-scoreable and 6 will drop off EX soon)
Once you get to the point of 50+ cards and a thick aged profile,
there are a lot of lenders that will overlook Inquiries.
I got my US Bank Cash+ early on, they aredefinitely new account/inquiry sensitive,
Probably 2/12 .. no more than 2 new accounts in 12 months is roughly the max they want to see.

I'm at 2/12 new accounts currently (Chase Amazon opened in Feb 2020 + Chase Freedom opened in December 2019) and at 5/12 HPs with Experian. The earliest a HP will stop affecting my score is in Dec 2020 so I'd prefer not to garden for 7 more months so early in my credit career although 5 months in the long term of things is such a short time.
My plan is on waiting till late October to re-apply for the Cash + when my checking account with them is a little older and the time since my last inquiry increases to over 6 months. Is time since last inquiry important an important factor or is it just the # of inquiries in the past 12 months.
Sidenote: I signed up for the trial at creditchecktotal.com and quick tangent I'm very surprised as I'm seeing 11 different HPs over the past 2 years. I don't recognize many of them but to be honest I haven't paid attention to my previous card applications or rental agreements which I'm assuming where they came from. All of the HPs I don't recognize are older than one year so I'm not sure what utility there would be in looking into them and seeing about removing them if unauthorized if they don't affect a lenders decision anyway.
