Arteta provides Saka injury update after Arsenal scare against Tottenham
Mikel Arteta said Bukayo Saka was unable to finish Sunday's north London derby, raising doubts about the winger's fitness ahead of a huge week.
The England winger was replaced by Ethan Nwaneri four minutes from time as Arsenal beat Tottenham 1-0 in an entertaining but scrappy north London derby, settled by Gabriel Magalhaes.
Arsenal begin their campaign in the revamped Champions League against Europa League winners Atalanta on Thursday before visiting title rivals Manchester City on Sunday.
Asked for an update on Saka, Arteta said: "I don’t know. I made two changes with the front players and suddenly he’s down. I looked at the bench and the options that we had and we had to adapt. I don’t know exactly what it is but he could not continue."

Gritty Gabriel proves Arsenal are up for the title fight
If Arsenal were to leave Tottenham with all three points, it always felt like it would take this kind of performance.
This was a win based on Arsenal’s resilience and grit, as they showcased the defensive quality that made them title contenders last season.
On this evidence, the Gunners are ready to compete with Manchester City again and they are more than up for the fight.
Fittingly, it was Gabriel who scored the only goal of the game. It was a thumping header too, with the Brazilian losing his marker in the box to power Bukayo Saka’s corner home.

Tottenham player ratings vs Arsenal: Cristian Romero lets himself down for derby winner
Tottenham slumped to a frustrating 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the north London derby, decided by Gabriel’s second-half goal.
Ange Postecoglou’s side shaded a bitty first half, with Dejan Kulusevski twice testing David Raya, but struggled to carve out chances after the break.
Their weakness at set-pieces again proved costly, as Gabriel headed home Bukayo Saka’s corner to give Arsenal a third consecutive win at the home of the neighbours.

Arsenal ratings: Gabriel the hero as Timber has best Gunners game yet
Gabriel scored the only goal of the game as Arsenal earned a priceless win at their rivals Tottenham.
Despite being without a string of first-team players, including captain Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, the Gunners battled to a 1-0 win.
Gabriel was the hero, powering home a header midway through the second-half after rising to meet Bukayo Saka’s corner.
The win means Arsenal move up to second in the Premier League and are just two points off Manchester City ahead of their trip to the Etihad next week.
