That’s awesome! After I got my personal trainer certification I looked into possibly investing in a franchise but before I actually do so I’d like to work as a trainer in a gym to get a feel for it. I’m currently doing virtual training in a local gym in my area but I think that it’s definitely a great move.

"My functional fitness gym almost sunk in the mid-2010s.Why?I had very good coaches and lots of credentials. But I didn’t know anything about running a business properly. The short summary: We had too many classes with too few people, and my labor costs outpaced revenue. We had no plan to generate more revenue by increasing client value, adding more clients or retaining members longer. At our lowest point, we lost $5,000 in a month. I was scared. And my ability to spot an early arm bend in a snatch didn’t help me at all."An excellent column by Mike Warkentinhttps://lnkd.in/gmH2vH7g#crossfitaffiliates #gymbusiness #fitnessbusiness #yogabusiness #fitbiz #yogabiz #gymbiz #gymowner #fitnessbusiness #gymowners#businessquestions #twobrainbusiness #entrepreneurship #businesshelp #freeresources #ceo #profit #revenue #retention #businesshelp #businessmentorship #gymownerlife

How do you turn your passion into a viable business? Fitness coach and business owner Roy Hanford talked me through his journey.Key highlights of this conversation included: - Stay in your lane The fitness market is fragmented. Consumers want solutions to it all and some businesses are trying to be everything to everyone, which often isn't the best approach. Know your niche and diversify your service offering within that niche. Be clear about your offer and transparent about what you're not. - Evaluate what growth looks like to youMore isn't always better. Whatever stage you are in business, think about your long-term goals and what you want to achieve. Does it suit your lifestyle? It's not always about getting bigger and making more money. Focus on what you want, not what others expect. And a parting hack for life from Roy, and my personal favourite:Never skip leg day! Certainly one my coach would agree with. If you want to read the whole conversation, head over to my blog for more advice and tips from Roy Hanford, Founder of The Fit Project. The first in the wellbeing industry expert series.
